virtual,<br data-start=\"363\" data-end=\"366\" \/>That it would applaud me\u2014break me\u2014<br data-start=\"400\" data-end=\"403\" \/>Hang me on the eyelashes of a cloud<br data-start=\"438\" data-end=\"441\" \/>Then drop me into the pit of echo.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: center;\" data-start=\"479\" data-end=\"768\">I went on,<br data-start=\"489\" data-end=\"492\" \/>Casting my shadow on the roads<br data-start=\"522\" data-end=\"525\" \/>Like someone dragging his soul in the exile of himself,<br data-start=\"580\" data-end=\"583\" \/>Chanting myself\u2014driving away whoever came,<br data-start=\"625\" data-end=\"628\" \/>As if the heart were a well dug in the back of the wind<br data-start=\"683\" data-end=\"686\" \/>Overflowing only with a bitter note<br data-start=\"721\" data-end=\"724\" \/>That knows neither remorse nor repentance.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: center;\" data-start=\"770\" data-end=\"1101\">I said: We parted<br data-start=\"787\" data-end=\"790\" \/>And the sky witnessed my tone\u2014<br data-start=\"820\" data-end=\"823\" \/>Like a wave breaking the rock of life<br data-start=\"860\" data-end=\"863\" \/>Without greeting what remained.<br data-start=\"894\" data-end=\"897\" \/>You were the burning of my patience,<br data-start=\"933\" data-end=\"936\" \/>But I expelled you from my blood,<br data-start=\"969\" center;\" data-start=\"1227\" data-end=\"1631\">You\u2014<br data-start=\"1231\" data-end=\"1234\" \/>Who descended upon my silence<br data-start=\"1263\" data-end=\"1266\" \/>Like a cloud over barren land\u2014<br data-start=\"1296\" data-end=\"1299\" \/>My dreams withered like pages<br data-start=\"1328\" data-end=\"1331\" \/>Eaten by the pen, unsaved by ink.<br data-start=\"1364\" data-end=\"1367\" \/>You used to spread the dew of your voice<br data-start=\"1407\" data-end=\"1410\" \/>Over the dryness of my spirit,<br data-start=\"1440\" data-end=\"1443\" \/>Drip light into my desolate heart,<br data-start=\"1477\" data-end=\"1480\" \/>Send your shadow in the evening<br data-start=\"1511\" data-end=\"1514\" \/>To speak to my night of the warmth of apology.<br data-start=\"1692\" data-end=\"1695\" \/>Her coffee, her promise,<br data-start=\"1719\" data-end=\"1722\" \/>Her voice that soars with your laughter<br data-start=\"1761\" data-end=\"1764\" \/>Like pure song,<br data-start=\"1779\" data-end=\"1782\" \/>Opening to you the dream<br data-start=\"1806\" data-end=\"1809\" \/>That pain had closed in my blood.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: center;\" data-start=\"1846\" data-end=\"2094\">Ah, my hand\u2014<br data-start=\"1858\" data-end=\"1861\" \/>The hand that rejected you when you were a promise,<br data-start=\"1912\" data-end=\"1915\" \/>When you were light in the darkness.<br data-start=\"1951\" data-end=\"1954\" \/>I still hear your voice<br data-start=\"1977\" data-end=\"1980\" \/>Carrying me like a child to a garden of your warm palms,<br data-start=\"2036\" data-end=\"2039\" \/>That hand<br data-start=\"2048\" data-end=\"2051\" \/>That used to sing in my blood and dreams.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: center;\" to childhood,<br data-start=\"2183\" data-end=\"2186\" \/>Does not open a door shut by delusion.<br data-start=\"2224\" data-end=\"2227\" \/>You are the light I was too late to touch,<br data-start=\"2269\" data-end=\"2272\" \/>The one I reached after absence<br data-start=\"2303\" data-end=\"2306\" \/>Only to find in your eyes<br data-start=\"2331\" data-end=\"2334\" \/>Someone else had rekindled you.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: center;\" data-start=\"2369\" data-end=\"2891\">And today I walk\u2014<br data-start=\"2386\" data-end=\"2389\" \/>A shadow beside the feet of one who does not see,<br data-start=\"2438\" data-end=\"2441\" \/>A shadow stumbling in a melody<br data-start=\"2471\" data-end=\"2474\" \/>That shows no respect<br data-start=\"2495\" data-end=\"2498\" \/>For what remains inside of my waiting.<br data-start=\"2536\" data-end=\"2539\" \/>Inside me, a voice repeats:<br data-start=\"2566\" data-end=\"2569\" \/>If only your patience had not snapped,<br the old paper,<br data-start=\"2700\" data-end=\"2703\" \/>And death assails me at the tip of the pen,<br data-start=\"2746\" data-end=\"2749\" \/>Whispering: Were you a woman<br data-start=\"2777\" data-end=\"2780\" \/>Who could not shelter the heart that gave?<br data-start=\"2822\" data-end=\"2825\" \/>Or were you a pain<br data-start=\"2843\" data-end=\"2846\" \/>No one saw<br data-start=\"2856\" data-end=\"2859\" \/>Except in the throb of regret?<\/p><p style=\"text-align: center;\" data-start=\"2893\" data-end=\"3158\">Now you have found the light\u2014<br
